PUBLIC FACILITIES

While Rosamond is still unincorporated, facilities-wise we already have the nucleus of the town-to-be:

Wanda Kirk Library
Study & research areas, internet, meeting rooms, etc.

Post office & Fire Station
Our brand-new fire station replaces a WW-II era structure and is more centralized relative to the growing population.

Community Services
The RCSD handles water, sewer, parks.

While the nearest hospital is in Lancaster, we have fulltime ambulance service.

Hummel Hall
Our community center...meeting rooms, senior nutrition, etc.

Downtown Park
Convenient for residents of "old downtown", this park is one of two.

Water Treatment
Local water is supplied from the California Aqueduct augmented by  ground water sources

High School Campus
Rosamond High boasts this centrally-located campus, shared with Hamilton Elementary school.

Home of the Roadrunners.
Hamilton Elementary is immediately adjacent.

Rosamond has a fine selection of churches, no less than eleven, in fact.

One of several non-denominational

Masonic Hall
Housed in a classic old adobe church building.
Rosamond has chapters of most major civic & fraternal organizations

BUSINESS & COMMERCIAL

Though "heavy duty" shoppers must still travel to Lancaster/Palmdale for large appliances, furniture and clothing, we do have local sources for virtually everything needed day-to-day:

Shopping Center
Now around 11 years old, this center is still the "shopping focus" of Rosamond
Supermarket
The arrival of Albertson's was truly a milestone in Rosamond
Rite-Aid Drugs, etc.
Having a selection of specialty stores greatly augments the "livability" of our town.
Karl's Hardware
A local stand-by for decades, family-owned Karl's seems to have everything. Diamond Street location.

Devonshire Motel
Weekend crowds at Willow Springs Raceway often fill this motel, but weekdays are generally quiet.
Law Offices
We have a couple of resident lawyers if needed:
Olaf Landsgaard
Cynthia White

A favorite of the ladies

Chevron East
Typically 5-10 cents higher, but if you like the brand....
Chevron West
Formerly a Citgo, this station also boasts a Jack-in-the-Box
Fastrip
Generally matching Arco's price, this 'independent' also has a convenience store. Corner of Sierra & Rosamond Blvd.
Auto Zone
This  'chain' auto parts store is on Rosamond Blvd. west of the freeway

EATING ESTABLISHMENTS

Not saying we like to eat here,  but there do seem to be a few choices:

Golden Cantina
Located at the Skypark, you can fly or drive in for great Mexican food. Full bar, optional scenic patio dining. Dinner 7 days, Sunday champagne brunch from 10:00AM.
Shanghai Chinese
Family owned Shanghai is the place for excellent Chinese. Wine & beer. Expansive seating; Rotary meets here.  Take-out available. On Rosamond Boulevard downtown.
Tacos Si Senor
For years the site of Zuma's Italian, now a "real" Mexican eatery with a vast menu at very attractive prices.  Beer served. Eat in or take out.  On Sierra Highway, open 7 days
Guido's
What was previously The Skillet has morphed into Guido's Pizza & Pasta   On Sierra Highway just S. of Rosamond Blvd.
The Wayside
Another favorite for breakfast & lunch, also serves family-style dinners.  Lo-o-ong history behind this place!  Sierra Highway location.

Ramone's Mexican
Ramone's is another long-time Rosamond eating establishment.  Full bar, buffet on selected evenings.  Rosamond Blvd. east side shopping center

Spice it up with this dining selection!  Adjacent to Ramone's in the east-side shopping center.
Foster's Freeze
If you want a classic burger or shake this is absolutely your best stop.

McDonalds
Well, of course ... what would fast food be without a McDonalds??
Taco Bell is another choice, located only yards away, with Jack-in-the-Box just across the street.

We've probably missed including a dozen more eating choices.  Subway sandwiches, Domino's pizza, the Budweiser Pavilion at Willow Springs, Coach's Sports Bar (pictured left), The Donut Shop, Chuck's Pizza, Tom's Family (recently opened).....the list goes on!
